University Health Network
The University Health Network encompasses well known Toronto area hospitals: Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and most recently the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. As the name suggests, the network of hospitals distinguishes four separate health care facilities with their own identity, but with an interdependence and interactive patient care.
Each hospital is unique, with different areas of specialization. The hospitals have long and proud histories of success, and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, research and education.
To enhance patient-care, the University Health Network has organized resources of physicians, staff and services into seven Focus of Care Areas:
- Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis Program uses a multidisciplinary approach to look at the structure and function of bones, muscles and skin. From disease prevention to treatment programs, the Program is a leader provincially and nationally in the treatment of musculoskeletal and arthritis disorders. Encompassing a broad spectrum of disorders, the Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis Program is able to offer a high standard of patient care with the identification of seven areas of care.

- Multi-Organ Transplant Program is the largest program of its kind in Canada, offering transplantation in the heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas and the small bowel. As a life-saving treatment, successful organ transplantation at UHN is supported by a multi-disciplinary team composed of specialists and health care professionals in a variety of fields. Together, the team is able to offer patients an integrated and efficient approach to care.

- Peter Munk Cardiac Centre offers patients world-class cardiovascular care. With almost all clinics and services offered out of Princess Margaret Hospital, patients can be sure they are being treated at a world-renowned cancer care centre. The areas of care for the Cancer Program further the focus on patient care in the prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
